What you get

Everything the exam route offers. Without the exam.

Questions, not needles

14 plain-language health questions replace the clinic visit, the blood work, and the waiting. Say yes to something and we ask a follow-up instead of failing you.

A yes for every applicant

Every applicant aged 18 to 80 receives an offer. Tougher answers change the shape of the offer, never whether you get one.

Real coverage amounts

Coverage from $5,000 up to $500,000, in term and permanent forms, with optional benefits like accidental death where available.

Tax-free payout

The death benefit is paid as a tax-free lump sum directly to your beneficiaries, exactly like traditional life insurance.

The honest part

What you trade for skipping the exam.

No-medical coverage is a deliberate trade: speed and certainty in exchange for some limits. Here they are, plainly.

What you gain

No clinic visits, no waiting weeks for lab results, and no risk of a decline letter after all of it. You apply on your phone, see your real price with no email wall, and get a decision within 24 hours.

Coverage caps and deferrals

No-medical policies top out lower than fully underwritten ones ($500,000 here), and depending on your answers a 24-month deferral can apply: accidents are covered in full from day one, and if death from natural causes occurs in the first 24 months, every premium paid is returned to your beneficiary. Full explanation here.

Price, honestly

You pay for speed and simplicity. If you are in excellent health, a traditional insurer with a medical exam will likely beat our price, and you should take it. If your health file is complicated, we are likely your best yes.

Two kinds of no-medical

Simplified issue vs guaranteed issue.

All no-medical coverage in Canada comes in two flavours. You never have to pick one, your answers place you in the strongest option automatically.

Simplified issue

A short set of health questions, no exam. Typically offers higher coverage amounts at lower premiums. This is where most Oneday applicants land, even with conditions like diabetes.

Guaranteed issue

No health questions at all, acceptance is guaranteed for ages 18 to 80. The trade: smaller coverage amounts, higher premiums, and a 24-month deferral. It is the yes that is always there, no matter your health.

Exact coverage amounts, term lengths, and your price are confirmed during the application, before you commit to anything, and before any payment is taken.

Reasons to choose no-medical

Built for the people other insurers avoid.

I have existing health conditions

Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, heart history, high blood pressure, weight, we ask simple questions about it and make you an offer anyway.

I’ve been declined before

A large share of our customers were told no elsewhere first. A past decline does not follow you here.

I just don’t want an exam

Healthy but done with gatekeeping? Skip the nurse visit entirely and still get covered this week.

No-medical FAQ

The questions everyone asks.

Who qualifies for no-medical life insurance with Oneday?

Every applicant aged 18 to 80 who lives in one of the seven provinces we serve (Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, or Nova Scotia) receives an offer. No medical exam is ever required, your answers to 14 plain-language questions decide the shape of the offer, never whether you get one.

Does Oneday ever require a medical exam?

No. There is no exam, no blood work, no needles, and no doctor’s note, for any applicant, at any coverage amount we offer. The questionnaire is the whole application.

What does "no-medical" life insurance actually mean?

It means you apply without visiting a doctor or clinic. Simplified issue coverage asks health questions but no exam; guaranteed issue coverage asks no health questions at all. Both exist to help Canadians who would be declined or worn down by traditional underwriting still get real protection.

What is the difference between simplified issue and guaranteed issue?

Simplified issue asks a short set of health questions and typically offers more coverage at lower premiums. Guaranteed issue asks no health questions, acceptance is guaranteed within the eligible age range, in exchange for smaller coverage amounts, higher premiums, and a deferral period. At Oneday you never have to choose between them: your answers place you in the strongest option automatically.

Can I be declined?

No. There is no decline letter here. Tougher health answers change which tier you land in, the amount, the price, and whether a 24-month deferral applies, but every applicant aged 18 to 80 receives a real offer.

How does a no-medical payout work?

Exactly like traditional life insurance: your beneficiaries submit a claim with proof of death, and the insurer pays a tax-free lump sum, typically within a few weeks. If a 24-month deferral applies and death from natural causes occurs inside that window, the premiums paid are returned instead of the face amount, accidental death is covered in full from day one.

How much coverage should I get?

A simple rule of thumb is DIME: add your Debts, your Income times the number of years your family would need it, your remaining Mortgage, and future Education costs. Oneday coverage runs from $5,000 to $500,000; the amount available to you depends on your answers, and you see it before you commit to anything.
